pounding the pavement

It may sound like it's a long way off, but I'm beginning to get ready to run a half marathon at the end of May (this will be my third).  With everything going on lately, running (or working out of any sort) has definitely taken a back seat, but I'm anxious to get back on the bandwagon.

I still sort of wish that I could just take the plunge one of these days, and run a full marathon, but I get panicky every time I think about it.  So for now, a half it is.

Have any of you ever done a full marathon? I'm assuming if you have, and you are reading this, that you managed to survive it.  I'd love to hear how it went, what the training was like, what the race was like, etc. Maybe if I could hear from some of you that it isn't the death march I've built it up in my head to be, I could get past my scaredy-cat ways, and commit to a full fledged marathon (ick- even typing that makes me a little woozy).

  1. You go girl! I have never done a marathon, BUT I once volunteered at the IronMan in Kona, Hawaii. After watching those crazy people all day long, I felt like I'd done the darn thing:-) xoxo

  2. I've watched that on tv before. Those people just amaze me! I bet it was an awesome experience helping out with it!

  3. I haven't made a full yet either -- maybe 2013 will be my year. My problem is committing to a race!

  4. Corrie, you are pretty much my running inspiration (seriously!), so maybe if you could commit to one, that would inspire me to greatness as well:)
