When it comes to diy projects around our house, we've never shied away. Since we built our house three years ago, we've put in a patio, built a deck, installed new lighting, and tackled numerous landscaping projects. However, when it comes to painting things get, well...weird.
There probably isn't a room in our house that we haven't at least talked about painting, but when it comes to actually doing it, that's when things get tricky. Unfortunately, in three years, exactly 0% of our painting dreams have materialized. So, when I was inspired by these images of painted chalkboards on Pinterest, I wasn't holding out much hope that anything like that would ever actually happen in my house.
And then.
Enter Wallcandyarts. They make affordable, removable wall decals, and just happen to carry large removable chalkboard panels. I can't even tell you how pumped I was when I found these. I could get the look I wanted without any commitment, without any painting, actually, without much work at all!
They arrived yesterday, and after cutting a panel so size, I installed it on one of my cupboard doors. After testing it out on the inside of a cabinet door (to make sure it really was removable) and spending a few minutes of smoothing out all the air bubbles, I had my very own chalkboard "painted" cupboard.
Sorry for the less than stellar pictures. I got up this morning to take pictures (because, you know, morning light is better, blah blah blah), and lo and behold, it was as dark as night out. Stupid winter weather. Oh well. You get the idea.

I have known you quite some time now, but of all the things I know about you, your fear of wall color is the most surprising... Its on the verge of upsetting actually. However I am happy for your chalkboard decal discovery :) wish I could come see it/you in person!
ReplyDeleteI know! I'm so ashamed:( I just need to pick some colors and commit already!
