Something Crafty- Glittered Heart Ornaments

Last week, the weather decided to take an epic dump on us, and because of that, I got to enjoy a rare and fantastic snow day. I knew I started things off on the right track when I woke up that morning and saw that the clock said 9:30. For the win.
After finally decided to get out of bed, I debated for a moment about whether to loaf around all day, or actually get things done. I decided on the later, and proceeded to not only clean my entire house, but also get a little crafting in on the side.
A while back, Flea Market Style posted a super cute idea for a simple Valentine's Day craft, and I decided to give it a go. I put my own spin on the idea though, which in this case (as in most) meant adding glitter. Shocking, I know.

Glitter Heart Ornaments

Supplies:

-thread
-book pages
-heart template
-needle
-sponge brush
-glue
-glitter

I would highly recommend going to a bookstore and picking up a few old books like this one. You can usually get them on the cheap, and they are great for a multitude of different crafts.

The fist thing to do is to decide how many hearts you want in each ornament (I used three) and then start cutting them out. Stop when you feel like you have enough, or when you feel like your hand is going to fall off, whichever comes first.

Organize your hearts into stacks, and sew them up the middle. If you want to be a sellout and use your sewing machine, go ahead. I decided to keep it real, and sew by hand. Mainly because I don't own a sewing machine.

After you've sewn them together, leave a little thread at the top for haning, and cut the excess off. Fold hearts in half, and fan them out.

Pour some glue out on a paper plate, and using a sponge brush, spread some of it on one side of each heart. Let dry, hang, and appreciate the fact that you just created the coolest Valentine's Day craft of all time.

p.s. Don't forget to enter this week's giveaway!
