Inspiration Friday

I'm enjoying a week off of work to work at camp, and so far it's been great! It's been fun, but tiring, and now that I'm in the home stretch, I feel like I need a little pick me up. Here are a few inspiring things I'm hoping will hold me over.

1. Alphonse Mucha

Chances are, you have seen his work before, even if you haven't realized it. Alphonse Mucha is easily one of my favorite artists of all time, and I would give just about anything to be one of the girls in his paintings. Aren't they just breathtaking?

2. Mail

Yep- that's right. Good. Old fashioned. Mail. Is there anything better than opening your mailbox and finding a real live letter or card in the midst of all the bills and catalogs? I think not. Letter writing is an art and I say- let's bring it back with a vengance!

3. Cinnaholic

An awesome name for an awesome shop that makes "gourmet vegan cinnamon rolls with attitude. Too bad, is in California :( Oh well, here's hoping they offer nationwide ordering and shipping sometime in the near future!

And for bonus points, how cute is owner Shannon Michelle?

4. Pretty Much The Most Awesome "Wedding" Photos Ever

Now, I say "wedding," because, although it appears that way, these shots are not actually of the couples wedding. They are actually from a photo shoot the couple set up to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary. I feel like there are no words to describe how unbelievably cool these photos and this couple are. I guess this answers the question, what am I going to do with my dress now that the wedding is over? Soak in water, cover in paint, etc. Side note- I sort of wish I was from Vancouver, so I could have had Weddings in Motion shoot my event.

5. Canopies

When I lived at home I had one over my bed, and it pretty much rocked my world. I haven't had any sucess convincing my husband that we need one over the bed we have now, but I haven't given up hope. :)

Madewell

If you haven't checked out the recently launched Madewell website, you really should remedy the situation immediately. Madewell is a company that has been around since 1937, and they are the sister company of J. Crew. Just think of them as the younger more laid back sister in the equation. Don't get me wrong, my love for J. Crew runs strong and deep, but Madewell's delightful blend of prep and earthiness is just to perfect to resist!

I'm especially loving their jewelry right now, and these are my two FAVORITE pieces- the colors are to die for!

Design Love

A few days ago I stumbled across a couple of rooms by Miles Redd, while killing some time on apartment therapy, and I fell hard. I love his bold style and use of color. His website describes his work as "cozy glamour," and I don't think ther could be a more perfect description than that. I feel like a lot of these rooms could have come straight from Sherlock Holmes' England, and I love them all!

Even his bio pic is just deliciously inspired, don't you think?

Weekend Roadtrip

Friends, what are you doing this weekend? I'm headed up to Minnesota for a week of working at a summer camp for kids. It should be great fun- this is one of my favorite weeks of the year. What about you? Fun plans? Traveling? Staying at home sweet home?

Inspiration Friday

Another better late than never Inspiration Friday.....
1. Promise Tangeman

She is my inspiration for life. Her blog was the first one I ever read an it inspired me to start this blog (sadly its not nearly as awesome as hers).
2. Peter Pan

I love everything that is Peter Pan almost as much as I love everything that is Alice in Wonderland.

3. Pushing Daisies

Sadly this show didn't last long, but I highly recommend finding the DVDs somewhere and devoting your weekend to watching this show.
4. Typewriters
